Guys, concentrate! user jima was answering on the thread! the hard drive instead of optical bay problem was started by me, not by that one who created a thread. So yes. Getting rid of DVD ROM will make it lighter and maybe little-little increase battery life.

@ James D - Thanks for standing up!
Since Clevo is highly reputed in the "cooling department", I opted for an HDD on a caddy especially since I'll be on AC most of the time!
@ OP -Ridding yourself of an ODD leaves your laptop with a blank space. Best would be, getting still an empty caddy to serve as dummy in the place of the ODD. Then, if you will have the need for additional storage... You know what to do next.
