Default DVI to HDMI converter not working on m570ru with HDTV...

    Hey,

Ok, so along with our new HDTV came a handy DVI to HDMI converter. However, when I use the converter, I cannot see my computer on the TV. My TV Model is Sony KDL-52W4150. What do I do to configure the Computer/TV such that it works? My display is present through S-video but not HDMi.

    Thanks.

You should use 18x series or newer nvidia drivers and set it to output 1080p (if the TV can handle that) it should correctly detect that you are running a TV.
Make sure you boot the laptop with the TV on the HDMI input with the laptop plugged in to the TV.

Booting with the notebook plugged in should help to "auto-detect" the TV. Also make sure that your TV is on the correct input, of course.

If you check your resolution panel with the TV hooked up, does the panel show a second monitor available or does it only show the laptop LCD panel as an option?

Have you tried going to the 'Nvidia control panel' (right click on desktop) and looking under 'set up multiple displays' to see if you can switch your output there?
