Re: Clevo W870CU
What about the power adapter of only 120W? It doesn't look like they take into account that a future real GT200M or GT300M card might need more than 75W. For comparison, D900F still has wattage room for a future 100W video card.
Will a simple adapter replacement be enough or do they need a model refresh?

Re: Clevo W870CU
When I talk real GT200M and GT300M I mean full 256 shaders and 512 shaders respectively which is up to 4 times more than an architecture, e.g. G92, that got stuck at the same level for several years.
You may doubt they will require over 75W but to 'seriously' doubt that would make you the best sales agent Nvidia will have for years.

Re: Clevo W870CU
Current nVidia gpus max out at 75W. I believe it is nVidia's or perhaps the laptop market in general's unwillingness to go above 75W that has kept nVidia from using the GT200 architecture in the mobile sector. nVidia is just now introducting the mobile GT200 architecture now that they have started using a 40nm process. I suspect they will keep the mobile GT300 architecture in the ballpark of 75W, which means it will be a stripped down version just like all prior nVidia mobile GPUs.
If I'm wrong and nVidia does release a 100W mobile card, it might be time for you to jump ship to ATI/AMD
I wouldn't get your hopes up for a 512 shader nVidia GPU until at least 32nm process.

Re: Clevo W870CU
The new Mobility 5870 maxes at 60w, so don't doubt that Nvidia can fit its 40nm chips under 70w as well.

Confirmed support for HD-4870XT, ATI Manhattan (DX11) and Nvidia GTX 3xxM. However, ATI cards will not be standard specs.
