That might not matter if the system is imposing strict limits on both CPUs.

Right now it looks like the Turbo is disabled on 3612QM while 650M is used...but on 3610+ the Turbo still works...

From everything reported so far it looks like with both the CPU and GPU having boost features that the 3612QM will still reach the same max temps as both of them will boost underload to take full advantage of the cooling system.

The one area the 3612QM may still have a advantage is battery life. IF it has been binned by intel to be the most efficient(able to run at lower VID) it may have a longer idle battery life during low demand usage. The 3610QM guys have been reporting ~4hr battery life and I'm hoping the 3612QM guys will get back to us with a better low usage (Internet in class/word processing) battery life.

Refused delivery on my order. I was able to order the Alienware M14x with the same specs and the ddr5 version of the graphics card for $554 through AAFES (military exchange online). Message me for details if you're curious.

    $554!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have less than 5 posts, so you can't receive PMs. I'm curious though, how'd you do it? I thought the discount was 25%.

If you're military or military dependent, dell has a store through this AAFES site. They're having a 25% mothers day deal, but you can remove the office software for $200 less. For $711, you can upgrade the screen to 900p and the graphics card to 2gb. Buying at $711 saves you $662! I'm really excited, haha.

Yeah, otherwise M14x is ~ $1300. I'd probably buy it for $711, but not for $1300!

OH hell no! Being $200 less than the Clevo build, I think I got a sweet deal. $400 less with same specs (still with better graphics card). Would never spend $1300 either.
