Re: **Official Sager NP5160 Owners Lounge**
Hey,
For your graphics question check out this link for some benchmarks.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M - Notebookcheck.net Tech
Overall, should it be able to handle things on high at 1366x768, yes it should, but @1080P it will probably struggle a bit on high.
For the sound, on paper it has the same THX software with it as the other new models, however, these laptops do not have the sub-woofer on them so that will effect performance.
For cooling, the main vent as you saw is on the left, the way the fan works is for the most part air is sucked into the case via the bottom and the front and then the blower exhausts it all out the side, but there are a couple of vents on the front and along the bottom.

Thanks for the input mythlogic.
I think the GTX460M might just be better for me if I wana play on a higher resolution =] And the other system probably has better sound

Anyone know if they are going to offer another 51XX series laptop with the same specs as this but with a FHD matte display?

Since no one will say it, I will...why no GeForce GT 555M?

Re: **Official Sager NP5160 Owners Lounge**
because it's suppose to be an affordable descent notebook, the 555m will make it cost more, better cooling etc...
hmmm from what i get it's the same chasis as the 5135, so the sound is probebly bad the same way, don't expect too much, but again it's a 780$ awsome laptop, i don't think the speakers are a deal breaker, it has great hardware for a great price and you don't get 15.6" fHD almost anywhere else for this price.
it makes me feel really sorry i bought the 5125 5 month ago, this one is like 30% better...Staggering new Sager NP5125:
fHD 1920X1080 screen
Intel Core i5-540m 2.53 cpu.
NVIDIA gt 330m gpu,
4GB ddr3 ram
500GB 7200RPM HDD
Intel 6300N Wifi.

Re: **Official Sager NP5160 Owners Lounge**
How's battery life supposed to compare to the NP5135? Xoticpc.com says only 2-3 hours.
I'm rushed and don't feel like looking this up right now, but anyone have any idea how often this line of notebooks has been refreshed (new model comes out)?

Re: **Official Sager NP5160 Owners Lounge**
I have heard others suggest that battery life on comparable Optimus machines could be extended considerably (6-7 hours). Maybe the 2-3 hr listed is with the discrete graphics always on but not at full load?
It would be hard to believe that the NP8130, which has a GTX 460M (no Optimus) and also is listed at 2-3 hr, has the same battery life as an Optimus enabled machine like the NP5160.

Re: **Official Sager NP5160 Owners Lounge**
It cannot be 2-3 hours... the ones with 460m and 485m last 2-3 hours,
and I think it is just a typo.

Re: **Official Sager NP5160 Owners Lounge**
Along the lines of battery life, has anyone else noticed that all the resellers (Xoticpc, powernotebooks, etc) list the 6-cell battery as 62.16Wh, whereas the Sager site listed the battery at 48.84Wh? Seems that could be quite the difference in battery life.
