Re: **Official Sager NP5160 / Clevo W150HNQ Owners' Lounge**
I am brand new here and have done considerable reading about the various Sager models. I have a pre-order pending for the NP5160 but due to the additional delay and time to ponder, I am considering upgrading to the NP8130. The upgrade with similar specs will cost approximately $278. I will be using the Sager for medium gaming, internet, office apps, movies, and will need occasional portability. I will be with power most of the time so not terribly concerned with the reduced battery life on the 8130. I have read both threads in the owners forums but still unsure on a couple topics:
HD Matte screen on the 8130 vs HD Glossy screen on the 5160 - are there other technical differences in the screen? Is one better than the other for daily use? I have never owned a Matte screen so not sure what to expect. Will colors seemed washed out and not be as vibrant on a Matte screen? I realize this is often a matter of opinion but trying to weed through the many opinions.
GTX460M on 8130 vs GT540M on 5160 - 460M is better video by far according to what I read but will not have Optimus technology and reduce battery life. Does Optimus cause problems with gaming? Is Optimus really a great benefit or still somewhat untested? I have read conflicting articles on this and not sure if it is worth the hassle due to still being newer technology.
Here are my two setups I am considering... Any advice is greatly appreciated. I am also going to post in the NP8130 thread in case owners of that laptop only review over there.

Re: **Official Sager NP5160 / Clevo W150HNQ Owners' Lounge**
Most people seem to prefer the matte screen over the glossy just because of the glare. You get brighter colors from the glossy though. So it really depends. If you are really worried about battery life then go with the 5160. The 540 will play most games at high level. The really graphic intensive ones will probably do ok on low.

Re: **Official Sager NP5160 / Clevo W150HNQ Owners' Lounge**
The "glossy" is brighter is a misnomer. The only reason most laptop glossy screens are brighter than most laptop matte screens is because of the quality (or lack-thereof) of the matte screens put into most laptops.
If you observe standard desktop monitor screens you will notice that the best quality ones with the best color, contrast and backlighting are actually matte finished not glossy. So really, the problem lies with the laptop manufacturers that choose either really bad matte screens, or just decide to "go with the flow" and stick with glossy._______________________________________________

Re: **Official Sager NP5160 / Clevo W150HNQ Owners' Lounge**
I'm also new and I've really appreacited the input I've gotten from reading this forum. Now my incredibly stupid question. When I try to pre-order the Seger 5160 on XoticPC.com it offers me a "spare" AC adapter and battery for an additional fee. Does the laptop come with one of each of those already or are they separate and are an additional purchase?

Anyone have any idea how exactly this sandy bridge chipset recall that was just announced is going to affect this?
