May instead grab a 80gb or 120gb SSD. Is it even worth getting an SSD for playing battlefield badcompany2 (bf3 when its out), mmo's, and sc2 (d3 too when its released) ?
An upgrade to an SSD will help you more than a i7-2630QM to a 2720QM jump I think most would say...

Agreed...spend your money on an SSD for the greater performance gain.

Speaking of class action lawsuit regarding Nvidia:

Too bad its limited to only Dell, HP and Apple. What a joke! In their list of qualified symptoms, mine is on that list: Computer turns on but the monitor doesn't. Well, I hope someone gets a fixed laptop out of this at least.

In this review it states that SSD's improve battery life...is this true? How much battery life difference can one expect compared to a 7200rpm harddrive?

Also is it easy to format SSD's?

    Check out here:

Benchmark Results: Power Consumption : Roundup: The Best SSDs For Enthusiasts

With my Intel SSD in my Hannspree netbook I went from 4hrs to over 5 hrs, and from 6.5 hrs to almost 9 hrs on my M11x. Not all SSD's are the same power wise though. Although note that this was with power sipping netbooks. A regular notebook with a dedicated GPU though will consume considerably more power when idle will see little improvement in battery life because the hdd/sdd consumes little power compared to the rest of the system.

SSD's format just like any other drive. Just don't run disk defragmenter is about the only advice I can give for someone new to SSD's. Install Windows 7 fresh on an SSD and it will set it up appropriately.

first, thanks for the links guys.

second, I have made a configuration for my next laptop.

    Sager 8130 w/ 1080P matte display.
    Intel 2720QM
    Kingston KHX1600C9S3K2/4GX (8GB)
    Crucial C400 ~128GB (coming soon)
    AMD 6970 ~2GB (coming soon)
    Intel 6300N

only 1 problem..I can spend 1500 USD and don't want to wait another year to wait for the price to come down..

    therefor, back to square 1...hehe
