Re: **OFFICIAL Sager NP5125 Owner's Lounge**
My Sager NP5135 has shipped; it should be here on Friday.

Are there any burning questions people would like me to look into once I have it? I plan on running and posting some benchmarks on Saturday, once I have Windows 7 and some games installed.HP Envy 17

Re: **OFFICIAL Sager NP5125 Owner's Lounge**
Just another battery life statistic:
While reading this thread and running Pidgin + Avast (so, a few flash ads and light background processes) and MINIMUM brightness I'm getting about 3 hours and 7.5 minutes. This is on the 62 Whr battery, with the dGPU turned completely off. Set to Energy Star/Power Life mode. Number came from observing battery change over 15 minutes.
To be honest, I'm a little disappointed. I was hoping for 3.5 or maybe 4 hours+, but it doesn't seem possible even with me trying to use as little power as possible. And also, the battery will try to cut off at... 10%, I think, to prevent total draining, so that really cuts another 19 minutes off. All in all, way longer life than my old dell with a fat dGPU, but coould be better. However, this battery is also much smaller and lighter, so that has to weigh in as well.

Re: **OFFICIAL Sager NP5125 Owner's Lounge**
So can someone give a rundown of the new CPU's available on the 5135? I recall earlier in this thread someone saying that the 450m was better than all the higher-clocked i5's available on the 5125 because of the bandwith, thoroughput or something... So how do these i5's compare to each other?
Also, anyone order 5125 or 5135 with custom graphics on the lid from xotic pc? Would love to see some pics please!

Re: **OFFICIAL Sager NP5125 Owner's Lounge**
i5-460M
i5-560M
i5-580M
i7-640M
You can find all the specs on Intel's website or notebookcheck
Intel® Core? i5-460M Processor (3M Cache, 2.53 GHz) with SPEC Code(s) SLBZW, SLC22
Intel Core i5 460M Notebook Processor - Notebookcheck.net Tech
DMI is lower for the 460M (compared to the 450M) but has a higher clock speed so...
If you just want to compare the three i5s: http://ark.intel.com/Compare.aspx?ids=49652,49653,50179,
The more expensive, the better the CPU.

Re: **OFFICIAL Sager NP5125 Owner's Lounge**
Thanks, definitely the 580, it has the 4.8 GT/s. I was looking for that spec on intel's site and it wasn't listed for the mobile chips only the desktop ones.
What is Sandy Bridge and is worth waiting for? I have 2 laptops already, so I'm not desperate for one. I want something lighter and cooler than my monster xps m1710 though.

Re: **OFFICIAL Sager NP5125 Owner's Lounge**
What advanced settings do Energy Star/Power Life mode have? Specifically, what is the CPU max usage? You can also lower the automatic standby from 10%...
Do you have the 1080 screen? One of the intel WLAN cards? Those could increase battery drain by a lot.
Edit:
Wait, you didn't actually fully drain the battery but just calculated the total from 15 minutes? You can never trust those readings for Li-ion batteries...Sager np5135 | 15.6" 1920x1080 | Intel Core i5-460m | 4GB DDR3 RAM | Nvidia GT 425m

Re: **OFFICIAL Sager NP5125 Owner's Lounge**
I had all the default settings, that is, 5% minimum cpu, 100% max cpu. Perhaps I should try to adjust that. I looked at my task manager, however, and noticed it was usually 1 to 9% during this time.
Yes, I have the 1080 screen, and 7200 rpm drive, but not the intel WLAN card (kinda wish I did, apparently the standard card cannot connect to my campus's faster - and also more reliable - wireless network, oops).
And admittedly, 15 minutes isn't a lot of time, but it fits with my general perception of how long this battery has been lasting. I did some tests earlier with similar results.
