Re: **OFFICIAL SAGER 8850-Clevo W880CU Owners Lounge**
Very worried about build quality on these laptops, reading the forums it seems as if they are purchased because they are the only game in town not because of quality. Like to see what a few people that have these in hand think of display quality and build.

i've never owned a sager (at least not yet!
), but they are renowned for their solid build quality and screens. those 2 factors should be the lesser or yur worries, if u are going with a sager.

The quality is very good! Please read over the thread in the link below. It is on the Sager NP8760 - Clevo W870CU, which has the same basic build quality. I have dealt with both models and they feel and look the same with the same display quality too! I think you will like it!

ordering a W880CU soon . . .
but, not being a hardware expert, I need some advice. My approach to a new computer is buy the latest and greatest and use it into the ground.
#1. I would like to use the 1333 mHz RAM but am unclear as to which of the i7 chips I have to use. Some say i7-740QM, some say not. I'm willing to pay for the jump to the 740 but which RAM?
#2. *and* how much can be used ?
#3. Can I mirror RAID my 2 drives (I also have externals) without any issues? Don't need issues
.
#4. I have researched 500 GB, 7200 rpm HDD's and consensus ranked overall speed as follows:
1. Hitachi 7K500
2. Samsung Spinpoint HM500JJ
3.WD Scorpio Black WD5000BEKT
4.WD Scorpio Blue WD5000BPVT
Do you agree?
I may be gaming, may be multimedia-ing, some number crunching, but really tired of slo-o-o-w Acer 17".
Thanks for the help.

Re: **OFFICIAL SAGER 8850-Clevo W880CU Owners Lounge**
When can we expect the review promised a week ago. Really need to see some hands on stuff before i pull the trigger. No reviews anywhere on this model, makes me wonder. I know its been shipping for at least a few weeks now.

Re: **OFFICIAL SAGER 8850-Clevo W880CU Owners Lounge**
I am not positive but I know the extreme chip has to have 1333mhz ram. I don't know however it the other chips can run both. I got the 920xm to run with the Ram. (Which BTW finally showed up via snail mail). I am building it Monday so hopefully I can take some videos of everything.

Re: **OFFICIAL SAGER 8850-Clevo W880CU Owners Lounge**
If you are in a big hurry you might look at the reviews of the Clevo W870CU - Sager NP8760. The build quality is the same, the screen is the same. Really the 2 main differences is the W880CU-NP8850 has USB 3.0 (one port) and it has a different video card the nVidia 480M instead of the ATi 5870. I have worked and played with both and they perform fairly close to one another too. The W880CU-NP8850 does bench higher in Vantage and 3DMark, etc.
