Re: **OFFICIAL SAGER 8850-Clevo W880CU Owners Lounge**
I'm very interested in getting this machine. I've been reading about the high levels of heat that it produces. Will that cause the hardware to die quicker or is the cooling system good enough to keep it up and running?

Re: **OFFICIAL SAGER 8850-Clevo W880CU Owners Lounge**
The temps are very good as noted; I recorded the temps with HWMonitor while running 3DM06 in an 80*F room.
The cooling system on this notebook is superb. The only areas that feel remotely warm are right above the keyboard and around the fans on the bottom. Everywhere else is room temperature. It is also reasonably quiet though you can definitely hear the fans. I don't find the fan noise annoying at all. It seems to me like the fans on the NP8850 are quieter than the ones on the NP8760, though maybe I am just hearing things (maybe that should read "not hearing things"
).
Clevo/Sager and the newer Alienware notebooks have the best cooling systems.NotebookReview Writer & Reviewer

Re: **OFFICIAL SAGER 8850-Clevo W880CU Owners Lounge**
Yeah the W8760CU i had was quiet overall.. Idle noise was not much louder then when it was under load though the machine was audible pretty much all the time since the GPU fan was running constant...
The M15x i have now is very quiet underload and idle ... The M17x's i had were leaf blowers but still great machines if you can handle the noise ...

I wonder what happened to that laminar air jet technology from Intel? It did sound very promising at first.
Back to square one....
