The 8690 is amazing. The full hd screen is beautiful. Extremely bright, compared to any laptop ive owned, blows the 8660 (1680x1050) away.

The viewing angle is very impressive.

The heat on this thing is really not bad... I am used to my 8660 with 9800gt and this thing doesn't get hot on the keyboard/trackpad at all. I did go with the ssd this time though.

I have been playing aion (crysis engine) for 2 days on it and its a joy, no heat problems, and not uncomfortable in the slightest.

What are your temps playing Aion? Also, don't forget to use Nvidia's desktop color/gama options for the visual quality. Try Digital Vibrance on about 30%, and then check out Aion!

Will upgrading my M860TU to the W860CU be worth it in all angles?

Also, is there an official review of this laptop already?

Sorry, I read it wrong. Cuz I was being retarded, heh... maybe too sleepy. 94 degree is still not a good temperature... But before jumping into conclusions I would rather make sure that he played on a hard surface (and not on the bed) and with power profile on balanced or high performance.

I was not running on battery and I was running on a flat table. The laptop itself never got warm at all while playing crysis even though cpuid reported those temps. I then played some older games HL2 and TF2 for a good hour. Those games are less demanding and GPU temps in those cases maxed at 80 degrees. Compared to the other two laptops I have over here this laptop is quite cool. The gateway I have runs hot just by browsing the web for an hour and my other sager makes my legs sweat and also runs very hot. I used to play games on that thing for stretches of 3-5 hours or so with gpu temps over 90 degrees. It also runs almost 24/7. I don't know what the tolerance of the 280 is but that old machine was very durable at 5 years. What is the heat tolerance of the 280? Hopefully this weekend will give me some time to run extended gaming sessions and I'll see what the temps are. I'm not too worried about the temps right now. This thing was meant for hardcore gaming so that's what I'll give it

94C GPU/80C CPU is very worrying on a new laptop. You can only expect that to get hotter as dust builds up etc. And that is with the 45W processor, what are temps like with the 55W XM?

Hmm, im not sure I like the sound of that. However I will wait for more reports and info before jumping to conclusions.

I expect(that maybe) the settings were not on to preformance, though I am used to a mac, and just getting a windows for the first time in around a year.

When plugged in I set it to high performance. I also set the harddrive to never turn off along with a few other power tweaks

    For a Clevo, those temperatures are a bit troubling. I mean, I have a hot-running G51, and I rarely hit 80 in TF2.
