I typically do an Ebay search, and filter by "Show Completed Listings Only".... that will give you a rough idea of what the average going price is.

I suggest a "Buy it Now" with "Or Best Offer" option auction. Start the buy it now price conservatively high, and let the eBay market decide. Ebay fees may be a bit higher, but you could lucky or even sale it quicker, while also being more selective to bidder you can trust. If a bidder tries to low ball you and you have old parts (hardrive/RAM) lying around from some mods, counter offer with the old parts instead of your higher end installed components. Then resale your high end components back onto eBay. OF course this option takes more of you time and effort.
