    I have a 256mb card out of a sony Vaig VGN-S260.

1Gb cards are going to be impossible to find because I believe the largest ones were 512mb.

Hard to find, but not impossible. 1GB is available. Was hoping to find one out a machine that someone is getting rid of.

Although not cheap check out some of the ebay auctions... about $100. MemoryX has it for $160 and they are typically reliable and prices are neog.

Glad to hear some favourable thoughts on MemoryX. They are sell their own brand as the call it. If I can't get one used I'll be buying one there.
