Re: CF-74 HDD Caddy - Is There an Alternative?
I was thinking silicone HDD case, styrofoam shim, cheap chinese cable (got a link?) and something to mold to the side of the laptop to hold everything in (any ideas?).

Not a CF-74 but a mod I do on CF-73's. Give you a idea or two. I haven't got my hands on a 74 yet so I am not sure how big the caddy is.

Re: CF-74 HDD Caddy - Is There an Alternative?
Hey Guys,
I travel to Hong Kong about once a year, I attend trade-shows with THOUSANDS of manufacturers and in 2011 I spent A LOT of time / effort trying to find one who can do the CF-74 cable. Cable easy... but not the proprietary connector that attaches to it... no luck without spending A LOT of money with no guarantees... and I consider myself to be pretty good at sourcing. To be honest the one thing that has probably caused me a lot of time and frustration is this !!@#$ cable
As of this point in time, I can guarantee you will not find anyone who can sell you the cable separately.
But best of luck, and if you do find someone, I will humbly bow to you...
Peace

Re: CF-74 HDD Caddy - Is There an Alternative?
Take a good look...this is what you need. Like I said and techtuff said never seen one any where before like it
. For me to buy this it cost me $52.40 + s/h($25.00) from heartlands...I had the caddy but no cable.
