Music creation/production software on TB's

Anybody running music creation/production software on their TB? I tried a few packages on my CF29 and they don't seem to work right, almost as though there isn't enough processing ability to do the audio synthesis, etc. properly.

My 16 y/o step-son has FL Studio running just fine out a Dell GX280 PC (2.8 GHz) but on this CF29 (1.6 ghz) it seems like it's not resourceful enough.

Any thoughts?

What is your complete model Number? How much ram do you have? Here is what the FL Studio support site says about hardware....

Full sytem requirements of FL Studio:
•2Ghz AMD or Intel Pentium 3 compatible CPU with full SSE1 support
•(or) Intel Mac with Bootcamp (running Windows XP, Vista, Win7, 32 & 64 bit)
or running Parallels or VMWare Fusion.
•Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/Win7 (32 & 64 bit)
•1Gb RAM or more recommended
•1Gb free harddisk space
•Windows-compatible soundcard with DirectSound drivers. ASIO drivers are required for audio recording (FL installer comes with generic Asio4All drivers)

If your system meets the minimum system requirements, it'll be your actual system resources (memory, CPU, ...) that could impose limits on your FL Studio projects.

The faster your CPU the more channels you will be able to run simultaneously and/or the more effects you will be able to use. The more memory you have the larger the samples you will be able to load.

FL requires a lot of ram and processing power to work smoothly.

Depending on what you're doing... I put a TC Electronic Konnekt 8 on my then CF-30 (1.6GHz C2D, 4GB RAM, W7U 64bit) and multitracking worked fine. Once VST instruments and real-time processing plugins came in that's when it started choking.
