Re: Qualcomm HS-USB Modem
I didn't think the actual cards were proprietary... man that sucks. So you recommend acquiring a genuine GOBI Panasonic card, then? Not a big deal, but if there is a way to make this one work I would prefer that.

Re: Qualcomm HS-USB Modem
Most, if not all, Gobi cards are locked to a particular computer brand. I have not been able to get an HP card to work in my Panasonic computers, nor have I heard of anyone else succeeding. I use Gobi 1000 in my CF-19 Mk2 and my CF-30 Mk2. Both are Panasonic cards.

Re: Qualcomm HS-USB Modem
BTW, what is your bios and ec version? The Mk2 may require an update for Gobi.

Re: Qualcomm HS-USB Modem
A huge THANK-YOU to Rob!!! I received my Gobi card today, installed it and downloaded the CSA software. At first I had the dip switches backwards, so when I tried to instal CSA it would throw an error message: "There is not the wireless WAN device supported by this software". After changing the dip switch (only 2 switches on my CF-W8) it installed without a hitch. When the dip switches were wrong, the WWAN device still showed up in BIOS and device manager. So if you are seeing these devices in those two places, but can't get it to work, just try changing those dip switches.
On my W8 switch one is off and two is on. Black antenna wire goes to black triangle and white to white.
Big thanks again to Rob!!ToughBook CF-W8 w/ 4 GB RAM, Gobi2000, 120 GB Sandisk Extreme SSD, Win 8 Pro
