Y2 Owners: Your Comments Please
I really like the Panasonic Y2 as it fits my needs. A 14" screen with a 1400x1050 resolution and less than 4 pounds. I'm looking for a laptop for remote access to my work computer using LogMeIn and PC Anywhere. I've read reviews of the screen being washed out and uneven color. Could you Y2 owners give me your comments about the screen quality? Do you recommend this laptop? Thanks in advance.

Re: Y2 Owners: Your Comments Please
I think Panasonic in general has some of the weaker displays on the market. That said though, they're updaing their product line with better displays and updated specs. The Y2 will be a part of this as well, I think in the next 2-3 months.

Re: Y2 Owners: Your Comments Please
I have a CF-51 and the screen is terrible. The rest is a solid unit... but the screen is a piece of junk... washed out... and even blotchy areas... Im sending mine back again for repair cause its so blotchy.

Re: Y2 Owners: Your Comments Please
Ok, another view from a Y2 owner (also have a W2). The screens are a bit off in color but they can be "tweaked" for color correction. The white background will come out looking a bit blue or red depending upon the gamma settings out of the box when new. You really notice it when other machines are set up nearby and you actually get down to comparing. BUT, given the other fine qualities of these machines I would not give them up. There just hasn't been anything else that I could compare with the build or light weight features... that has spoiled me!

Re: Y2 Owners: Your Comments Please
I have to chime in here and agree with Kiwibru. I bought a Y2 last summer, mainly because I wanted a 'silent' notebook (i.e., no fan). The larger display, built-in optical drive, and weight were factors, too. OK, the screen is a little leaky at the bottom, and when you are word processing, the screen brightness is not uniform. But, like the previous post says, the advantages of this zippy little thing far outweigh what turn out to be, in the long run, minor annoyances. Viewing photos or graphics is never a problem for me. I only notice the uneven brightness of the screen when word processing, and I hardly notice that anymore. So, for me, it's a great little machine.

Re: Y2 Owners: Your Comments Please
I have very sensitive eyes. And I must say, the overall image quality of my
cf74 is equal to the SZ120 (non-glare, of course). To my surprisee, it is an excellent screen. Oh, and if your wondering, it is a Fujitsu 460 nit, touch screen
