You must never have had to live within a corporate IT environment. Consider yourself fortunate. Most larger companies only support a small number of "offically chosen" hardware platforms, and set up these PCs to only run the "offically chosen" apps.. they don't let you install, delete, or change anything. They come up with any number of justifications for this, all of which are readily accepted by management as fact.

And it sucks !!!!! I work for a hugh corporation and that is exactly what I have to deal with.

Matter fact we still have to plug are gobooks into a phone line every night to download are routes and software updates. The thing is I have to pay for the phone line to my house that i NEVER use. I have a cell phone and and internet connection that is all i need. I would love to use my cable internet connection to download what i need but they will never support it even if i beg. So i get stuck paying for a dumb phone line just for my computer to use for 20mins a night.

I tried to talk to are IT guys and ask if digital phone lines can be used and all I got was "Well we were working on it and had a 50% success rate but we do not support it and do not plan to support it anytime in the future"

It really sucks being at the bottom of the food chain as far as restrictions go I cannot do anything on my itronix gobook work computer. They even have a vBulletin script setup to run Cd's and DVDs that reads the disk and makes sure it was issued by my company before it will load.

A contracted police man is kinda a word that I came up with... For example at my brothers work they hire policemen that are not in uniform (that also drive unmarked cars) to make sure that drunken people don't get outta hand, and those people I see have those laptops alot in their crown vics.

Oh goodie! Another knock off from Getac. Or should I say Gcrap. So lets see they claim 810F ha. How about we do a side by side test.

A 4 foot drop give me a break. Oh by the way I will believe the testing when I see a SwRI (Southwest Research Institute) report that they passed. Yes a credible 3rd party testing company, not the manufactures claims.

Getac takes pride in what they hide. Oh if your really think that the CF-28/29 looks like the other Getac units, take a min and think about it for a second. The V100 came out several years after the CF-18 had been on the market and the CF-19 came out, The V100 is a direct knock off of the Panasonic CF-18, but is know where the quality or craftsmanship.

The wireless features of the Panasonic products are second to know one.

Come on Getac is that all you have.
