We know enough about it in that it'll have both the desktop and Metro modes like intel Win8, which is a half-baked a prospect already - but the ARM version will be even more so since it won't have any legacy apps to fully utilise the desktop mode.

I keep waiting for Sinofsky to post one of his epic entries explaining finally how it all properly gels together without feeling like a halfway house to Windows 9.

You know, I miss webOS. I suspect its open source flavor will not last without HP's (or someone elses) hardware support.

That image on the first page looks a lot like a giant HTC Legend to me, with the 'chin'.

For 90% of apps on a Win 8 tablet, you'll never leave the Metro environment. For the 10% you do, the desktop is there when you need it. It'll be just like having an iPad with the OnLive Desktop installed, only the desktop will be more polished and transitions to and from it will be easier.

    I don't call that half-baked; I call it versatile.

Well to be fair, they technically only left the webos tablet market. But yeah, after they stopped making/supporting the slate, I thought that was the end of the road for HP in the tablet space.
But then again, they were talking about selling or spinning off their PC division, which isn't going to happen either. I was hoping to get to see an epic light show as HP burned to the ground. *disappointed*
