    Default Amazon Cancelled my Account

Here is the email I received from Amazon:

    "Hello,

A careful review of your account indicates that you've requested refunds on a majority of your orders for a variety of reasons.

In the normal course of business, we expect there may be occasional problems. However, the rate at which such problems have occurred on your account is extraordinary, and it cannot continue. Effective immediately, your Amazon.com account is closed, and you will no longer be able to shop in our store.

All other accounts related to yours have also been closed. If you were to open a new account, it would also be closed. We will not accept the return of any additional orders placed under a new account, and we won't issue further refunds for those orders. We appreciate your cooperation.

Going forward, any questions must be directed to cis@amazon.com. Please do not contact Amazon's Customer Service department, as they will no longer be able to assist you."

It is true that I have requested a large number of refunds but this is because I order many camera lenses through Amazon and if they backfocus/front focus/miss focus frequently, I will return them for a refund and order another one. I have done this perhaps 8 times over the past 2 years. I am not upset with Amazon as they have the right to refuse business to whom they choose but here's my dilemma.

I ordered a Canon 5D Mark II from Amazon Warehouse Deals and was advertised as in "Very Good" condition. When I received it, a pin in the memory card slot was bent and thus, was unable to read any memory cards. I contacted Amazon immediately and they setup a UPS Pickup and a full refund. UPS picked up the package yesterday and my account was closed last night. So basically, I am out $2000 at the moment with no camera. What do you think will happen?

I have replied to the email provided above but I am scared that Amazon will just say, "Sorry, you're out of luck."

I wouldn't count on them doing that to you. Doesn't seem like something Amazon will do.

Please let us know what happens though.

They'll definitely refund your money, don't worry about that.

I'd get documentation from UPS showing when the package was picked up. Scan it, PDF it to them along with the date and time of the email, showing that you initiated the return prior to the email.

Amazon is not out to get your refund money, but Mitlov is right. You may need to show them that you initiated that last refund before they sent you that email.

I would guess that your return was the triggering event and Amazon will refund your money. I'm interesting in hearing what actually happens though.

I'm a HUGE Amazon fan and I heard of someone else getting banned for different reasons. I started getting nervous when I ran back a bunch of refunds within a 2 month window and was hoping I too wouldn't get banned.

I guess they have an alert system for so many returns within a certain time frame that triggers their system.

I think it also depends on what you buy and refund, seems like OP is returning lens which can cost a upward of 100-1k, every return they probably got cut 20% to put in warehouse deal +other administrative fee.

I mean if you are only returning stuff that are 10-100 bucks,it is a different story.

Maybe the system weighs in how much you buy versus how much you return. So if you say, purchase $5,000 worth of goods from them in a year, and return $500 worth, you're ok. ???
