Amazon doesn't care about the small guy, htwingnut. I'm learning that more and more. It's getting to where I'm hating all large corporations, because of their various shady business practices. I guess I'm turning anti-corporation and pro mom-and-pop shop, even though the latter has higher prices and far fewer selection. Go figure.

If we just had one sales tax for all the states we wouldn't have so many issues with it.

Thats because there is more to life then price and selection. Sadly maw and paw operations dont survive these days or Id be a frequent shopper (as would alot of people in my area). Its a common deal around here to shop at a local non chain over a super duper corporate store. I drive 10min more for a local hardware store over lowes and home depot for instance.

Not many that's how many I mean, lots of people don't even know someone "knowledgeable" either so really, people at stores, even with their limited knowledge still know lots more than the average schmuck and can advise them.

So yeah, until the average consumer can shop for themselves, retail stores with dedicated sales associates will exist.
sad thing is I tell everyone I know to talk to me first before they buy and they dont even bother asking me. I see them with this new device and i ask how much did you get that for......you know where it goes from there me rolling my eyes and trying to not make them feel stupid out of kindness.

At a nearby mall Best Buy is located about 300 yards away from Target. The same item costs $209 at BB and $100 at Target. Amazon had that item for $150, $120 during a sale. Wal-mart had it online/in-store for $100 too, but it wasn't in stock.
...yea maybe a few select items but not on average. Also amazon is definitely not the cheapest place to shop. Jewel Osco has some cheap prices that beat amazon walmart and aldi's but if you buy everything at jewel osco you will end up paying a large amount more because they are extremely over prices minus their few good sales.

Before anyone says electronics Brick&Mortar stores are going to die out, J&R and BH Photo are mom & pop stores and Brick&Mortar stores. They're doing fine. Best Buy should not open a store next to them for sure.

Mom and Pop stores who open their stores and passively wait for customers to walk in are bound to fail/struggle. Marketing is required if you want to increase traffic, but not many of them do. BB loves that. Those that do it successfully, BB avoids.
