Re: Alternative Randomness - The Neu-Clique™
Even I wouldn't replace just on that level. Mind you, this is the only manufacturer where you're practically guaranteed to find some covering that cossets the fragile pieces of shiny junk, so these days I snap on a Speck or slap an Invisibleshield over each. Works. Speck = convenient, protective but adds weight, e.g. turns an 11-inch Macbook Air into a 13-inch in terms of weight. Invisibleshield = doesn't protect against bigger knocks and gives the Macs a glossy look (which I don't mind but purists might) but really effective against everyday scuffing and scraping - and doesn't add weight.
Wish I could get one for the Z2 as that actually has more cosmetic issues (though a couple of drops has confirmed that it's not anywhere near as fragile as it looks, kind of a polar opposite of the Macs in that respect) than the Apple range.| Tablets: Quite a lot | Notebooks: A lot | Desktops: A lot more | Servers: I think you see the pattern | Laptop Bags: Even more |

Re: Alternative Randomness - The Neu-Clique™
Need I mention that it now has a very slight bend in the case as well?
Every time I set it down on a bench or something, there's a slight wobble now.
To be honest though, it was a fair knock. A four foot drop to a damn hard floor (was inside a neoprene sleeve at the time) on its corner. I'm astounded the screen wasn't cracked and pretty surprised the hard drive is still performing. The last time one of my laptops ever took any damage even close to that was when I dropped my old Toshiba on to concrete while it was in a padded case, from a height of about two feet. I can't say the same for it in how well it survived... let's just say it did a lot worse.

Re: Alternative Randomness - The Neu-Clique™
LOL. IDK why I feel different about it, but my MBP gets treated differently than my other notebooks. And yes, that would be the first thing through my mind... how much to replace.
I'd most likely get a new part from eBay though since Apple doesn't cover accidental damage and to get them to replace it is MEGA $$$.AD NOCTVMMBP 15"

Re: Alternative Randomness - The Neu-Clique™
No, I used to do that. Still would for an obvious dent or gouge. I don't carry machines with obvious damage and the pre-unibodies were particularly crud in that respect. Every time my bag met floor with more than thud I knew it would be time for a new MBP. Just like every time a heavier bag I'm carrying rolls over so that the Air's at the bottom, I know it's time for a new one unless I can bend the corners back cleanly (this was like every few weeks for the Rev. A, B & C apart from the multitude of other issues they had). Which is the reason why I use the Specks now despite the weight issue - while the post-'10 Air's are better in this respect, it can still happen and the Specks can prevent it happening.

How could I even forget about chocolate?!

My waffles are always swimming in chocolate and ice cream
There's this restaurant called "Chez Rino" in Braine L'Alleud (25Km away from Brussels, train is Charleroi-Sud). Best. Italian. Food. Ever. The lasagna is amazing, seriously the best I've ever eaten (even better than in Roma or San Marino), with a top notch Tiramisù. The Lasagna is kind of immersed in a mix of a Bechamel and Bolognese sauce, giving it an amazing flavour every bite.
Although it's pricey... ~50€ for 2x Lasagnas, 2x Fanta's, Tiramisù and Truffle de cacao. But damn worth it.Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - Android Revolution HD 11.2 + CarbonROM v1.1 | BGALI8 Modem | TWRP 2.4
