I have no classes tomorrow due to some UIL thing going on from some local high school going to my campus. So yea, nothing like a 3-day weekend.

I don't have classes tomorrow either due to student strikes!

Actually though, today was my first participation in the strikes so that was new/interesting.

So you went to the strike just to see how it felt like, or really there for the strikers' cause?

[Melody]

Nah I was there for the cause (although arguably there are varying degrees and variants of said cause), I just hadn't participated before because it wasn't a global lockdown of schools in the province like today.

Whats the strike about, btw?

Tuition fee hikes. It was pretty impressive though. People from all over the province came; about 250k students walking through downtown Montreal. And unlike the previous protests nothing bad happened so that's good.

That's a pretty damn good reason to go on strike, I hope my Uni doesn't do a price hike. I bet our strikes would be worse.

Many would argue it's not a good reason considering the incremental change per year is pretty insignificant (it's an extra 325$ per year). I'm not striking because of the numbers though; I know I can afford the hike if I manage my money better. I'm participating for more politically inclined reasons that I already discussed before so I won't delve into them again

On a side note though, had a guest speaker from Japan who brought some of these things to class today
