Re: The Random Thread - 2012 Edition
Usually I just buy ThinkPads but I can't help feel a bit disappointed with my recent T420 from the lacklustre screen (+ stuck pixel), having the lid hinges failed after 5 months and the slow and stubborn service from IBM UK. I'm now contemplating whether to persist with them or defecting to another brand...

Not to mention Thinkpads aren't exactly cheap in the UK.

Re: The Random Thread - 2012 Edition
I have the AUO HD+ screen (900p), the anti-glare coating is really noticeable. I used other notebooks with matte screens and haven't come across one where it's really grainy as this one.
So when I use a different notebook and look at certain images I think to myself "My goodness am I really missing out on all these colours?"

Re: The Random Thread - 2012 Edition
I'll check this when i can get my paws on the laptop, i'll also check what lcd is in it. Quite happy with the monitor in my G73 even though it is a glossy one though.
Just thought of something, we're in off topic and we're discussing notebooks, the irony!
And while i'm at it: what's with PhD students infecting the lab with viruses, they should know better sheesh. I needed to get that off my chest, i guess i'll have to do a stealth virus removal from the computers, the guy in charge of the equipments doesn't want anyone messing with the comps. However since he's not too tech savvy when it comes to computers, he'll never know, muhahahaha.Current: Precision M6700¦3720qm¦2x240GB SSD + 256GB mSATA¦32GB DDR3 1600MHz¦Firepro M6000
