I mean for my work purposes, wireless G is more than enough. My Z61t just does web browsing and testing old crap as well as maintain store equipment. Quite overkill for a T7200 + 80 GB SSD anyway. Besides is the wireless your bottleneck on a T61? lulz

I'm going to drop the 5100 card on my upcoming broken one to repair and since the newer wireless N cards are relatively cheap I thought I might as well go for it since my own T61 has no whitelist to worry about. I have a Wireless N router at home so I might as well go and take advantage of it. Lulz.

Not a fan of the 5100, if you're going to get rid of the whitelist, get a 6200 and a bracket

Ehh...is your WLAN that much if a bottleneck to go from a 5100 to a 6205? I've had both, I literally could not tell the difference. In fact, I've owned almost every single high end Intel WLAN (2200BG, 2915, 3945, 4965, 5100, 5300, 6200, 6205, 6300), never really noticed a huge difference with all the new ones.

I've had a 5100 give me problems, the 6200 has been flawless Bad personal experience, that's all. There's a chance i just got a lemon and the 6200 is dirt cheap anyways. Also, i transfer a lot of data over the wireless, not ideal i know, but cable would be impractical so i'm stuck with wireless and if i can get 6-7MB/s WLAN to WLAN all the better. I never had the chance to test a 5100 that was working correctly for network transfer, i didn't have my E3000 back then and cable was feasible as well.

No it's just the broken T61 I bought has the TP card and I think you can figure out the rest.
