I've seen people taking pictures with an iPad, and needless to say it looks quite silly so good on Google for saving money by cutting it.

I'd get one if I wasn't so set with Microsoft, but maybe 1 or 2 people I know might end up with one.

That's my problem as well. I'm set on buying a Surface Pro day 1. I also own a Kindle Fire and no way am I going to buy another 7" tablet. IMO they are pretty useless for web use.

i agree with you, a small phone and a big tablet is what it should be. a huge phone and a tiny tablet defeats the purpose of both the things.

It's sort of like Jumbo Shrimp.

In all fairness, a rear facing camera would be good for AR and barcode scanning purposes.

I'm pretty set on a Surface as well, but if the Nexus 7 turns out to be better than expected, I'll stick with it.

However, I'm also interested in the rumored iPad Mini that's been floating around on the web. Since I only ended up spending $100 out of pocket for the N7 ($100 for the three used iPod touches I bought locally, got $300 in trade in credit), I don't mind spending on an iPad mini if they come out and doing a good comparison between the two.

The Nexus 7 is my 2nd foray into tablet Android, the first being the original Galaxy Tab with 2.2/2.3. Everything I'm seeing and reading is telling me that this is going to be a vastly different experience, in a positive way.

What if the N7 is modified in a way that allows it to run the ARM version of Windows 8? I remember reading that one Surface is x86 and the other is ARM, if so maybe the N7's internal chip can fit the Surface's ARM version. If they figure out how to do that then I would buy the N7 over the Surface that would probably cost 2-3x the Nexus' price.

the consensus is that there won't be an iPad Mini because apple doesn't pander to the masses and hence doesn't bring out devices in multiple shapes and sizes and prices.

Microsoft isn't selling Windows RT as retail, and that would be quite a bit of backwards engineering porting the RT install off one device into another, but anything is possible with computers now..

I just bought a Nexus 7 from Office Depot. Does anyone know if all the Nexus 7's come with the $25 coupon for the Play Store? I have not opened the box just in case.

The Office Depot rep aka "Mr. Know It All" who helped me had absolutely NO clue about the Nexus 7, kinda reminded me of the kid in the Best Buy commercial.

Me: Hi, are you selling the Nexus 7 today?
Kid: Nexus 7? Um, I think we'll get those in 2 months.
Me: I called yesterday and was told Office Depot will sell them on Sat.
Kid: I haven't heard that, hmm
Kid: We are getting in the ASUS 700T in a couple of weeks.
Me: That was already released, BB has them.
Me: So do you have the Nexus 7?
Kid: I would check our website.
Me: Why? I called yesterday and was told they are in stock here, right now.
Kid: Yeah those are suppose to be available in 2 months.
Me: That's crazy so you can't sell your inventory for 2 months?
Kid: Yeah but you can go online an place an order and have it delivered in 2-3 business days.
    Me: Why? They're in stock.
Kid: Yeah I haven't heard that. Like I said check our website and order from there.
Me: Why? THEY - ARE - STOCK right here, right now !
Kid: I haven't seen them yet in our store. Just check our website and order there.
Me: OK, that makes NO sense you have inventory of a product you can't sell for 2 months.
Kid: Yeah, I don't know what to say.
Me: Well I guess i'll drive over to Staples, they have them in stock.
Kid: Let me check with my mgr.
Kid: Wow, they have been released today, would you like me to get you one?
    Me:
Kid: I would suggest the 2 year plan.
Me: Um American Express doubles the warranty for an additional year.
Kid: Yeah but that doesn't cover accidents.
Me: Look at me i'm not a kid and I take care of my stuff.
Kid: Well let's at least find out just in case.
    Me: OK.
    Cashier: That's $79
    Me:

And we have a labor force problem. And somehow these guys can find a job.
