Re: Best Android Apps
Even if you brick it, it's still easy to fix. I've bricked my phone for who knows, a dozen times already.

Re: Best Android Apps
I thought that Verizon had Samsung make file system changes before releasing the Fascinate version of the Galaxy S, but my stepmom keeps saying her phone is "super slow."
Would applying the "one click lag fix" do any good, and is it safe to do so on CDMA devices?Laptop/Netbooks: Dell Latitude D630

Re: Best Android Apps
Yeah still no 2.2 rollout for the epic 4g. Kinda upset as it was supposed to rollout in september or october at the latest.
You could get rid of those apps, but honestly having them run will not slow down your phone. I typically keep 5-10 things running at all times on my epic 4g and I never see it slow down.
Im assuming you got a custom rom for it?

As far as I know, OCLF applies to all Galaxy S devices. It's carrier agnostic. RyanZA's OCLF specifically states Fascinate support, but it's also $1.99.
EDIT: I forgot to answer your other question... Yes! It most certainly does work though. It creates a loop-back EXT2 partition that boosts file OP's significantly.AD NOCTVMMBP 15"

Re: Best Android Apps
Yeah, It's the Obsidian ROM by Team Whisky at Xda, it's based on leaked Vibrant Froyo base. It's really stable, so it became my daily driver.
I used the Version 3, because all the other version above 3 has some type of risky/pushing the limit mods that I don't think will be good for my phone.
I used Voodoo, it converts the whole /data folder to Ext4, but it's alot more risky than Ext2 (aka OCLF), you need to disable it before flashing anything else otherwise you will get a brick.

Re: Best Android Apps
This is actually probably a good place to ask.
I use my phone as an alarm clock but because I work varying hours, I'm forever having to adjust the alarm(s) to fit my working patterns.
So I was wondering if there was an app that would allow me to fill in my various shifts in a calendar format and then automatically sound the alarms at suitable times based on that.
I know that I can kind of do what I'm after with the standard G-Cal app but since you have to manually add the reminders for each event, it's a bit long-winded. What I'm after is something a little... lazier - I mark the day as being one when I'm working, set the time my shift starts and it sets up the reminders for me.
Or maybe there is a way to do that with G-Cal and I'm just not aware of it (I've never used it before, so that could well be true).
Anyway, if anyone can shed a little light on matters for me, I'd very much appreciate it.

Re: Best Android Apps
When I have weeks like that, I make my itinerary out in calendar.google.com. Instead of making each reminder out as an event, I set it as a task, that way if I don't specifically acknowledge it on my phone it reminds me multiple times like an alarm.
