You're never going to get good battery life with those specs, whichever manufacturer you go for.

Ok forget I mentioned battery life can anybody recommend anything similar? Maybe less pricey?

High end processor and high in video card will usually equal under 3 hours of battery life(gaming laptop). If you need anything over two hours your best bet might be buying an extra battery.
I'm not sure what your overall budget is but maybe buy like the Asus G73 Best Buy model for $1200 and pick up a one year or so old laptop off craigslist or ebay for few hundred bucks for dragging around to classes(or a new/refurb basic laptop). You'll have about $1500 invested. Plus the laptop your lugging around is cheap enough that if you drop it or something else happens with it your not going to care as much.
