It was a real contest, but you can call it a scam if you like on the basis they gave away a few good items and in exchange got a ton of new memberships to feed spam mail too and free publicity and advertisement far and wide on the web.

I think my next mouse will be the one Red just got the CoolerMaster instead of the new MX518 looking Razor just because I dont care for the fail of this contest. They come to post when its "over" on the forums but didnt care at all to stop by and let us know about the site problems or the status of what was going on.

The checkout system should have had its own server area for those that managed to get past the clusterhump that was the main site and cart so they could secure there checkout and get there well deserved prize (a laptop sleeve probably lol)

In hindsite the chances of winning this is probably less than the lottery when you think about just how many people were trying to get one of those 300 bags, and then the odds that one of those bags is actually something good.

I can pretty much guarentee if they had a lot of the good items they would have stated how many it was and not just said "a chance to get X item"

I mean if you were hosting some big event as a car dealer or something and giving away some cars for your grand opening and you were giving away 10 corvettes and 2 lame cars. You would not advertise your event in a way to make it sound like there is only a chance to get a car you would blatantly state there are 10 corvettes being given away to increase the publicity of the event.

Same here if your giving away a lot of items raning from really nice $100+ and some $5.00 POS if your giving away 20+ of the good item you would state something like 20 out of 300 will win X item worth $100+, not just "a chance to win X item" that just translates into "we are giving away one, maybe two of these, the rest of you get filler "
