AGREED! The reviews for these things better be darn detailed
If we can upgrade the RAM ourselves = mid-ranged vizio ultrabook for me
If we can't, then I'm probably going to get the vizio notebook, depending on whether the keyboard is good or not. If the keyboard is bad, I might be getting a MacBook Air =["Learn from me, if not by my precepts, at least by my example, how dangerous is the acquirement of knowledge and how much happier that man is who believes his native town to be the world, than he who aspires to become greater than his nature will allow." Nice little read
VIZIO Notebooks and All-In-Ones: First Impressions
I have a feeling I'm going to like the keyboard, I actually can't stand the new trend in laptop keyboards IE chilet keys

Re: Vizio Announces Sleek New 14" and 15" Notebooks Discussion
Good find! The stuff about the trackpad sounds very promising:
the trackpad worked better than on any other Windows PC I’ve used....the trackpad had a surface that provided enough tactice feedback but was smooth enough to be comfortable. I’d say, it felt as good as the ones on modern MacBooks. Second, overall tracking was accurate and quick, and palm rejection seemed perfect. Third, and most surprising, multi-touch gestures actually worked. Two-finger scrolling was smooth (unlike the usual stepped scrolling with some other Windows trackpads), and pinch-to-zoom worked quickly and consistently (although, oddly, it was stepped). Incidentally, this all applies to the other VIZIO trackpads I tried, including the ones that come with the all-in-one machines...the trackpad worked better than on any other Windows PC I’ve used (including MacBooks running Boot Camp). If trackpads matter to you, you’ll be happy with the VIZIO machines.

Re: Vizio Announces Sleek New 14" and 15" Notebooks Discussion
I stopped by a microsoft store here in Jersey and they had four 14 inch models on display.
First impressions are that the keyboard is pretty awesome even though there seemed to be alittle bit of flex but I was pressing down pretty hard, it had good tactile response. The build quality seems pretty solid. For the touchpad, it wasn't as responsive as I would have liked it to be. The ssd is a toshiba with a windows index score of 7.6 for the hard drive.
For the screen, it looked like it was ips, the colors were pretty vibrant and sharp, the viewing angles seemed to indicate that it was ips. I asked the sales clerk whether they knew if the screen was ips or not... and no one who worked at the store knew what an ips screen was -_- I had to explain what it was to half of the team working there...... I also inquired about upgradability but to no avail...I love my Asus V2s-A1

They said on their website that they won't be selling in Canada if I remember correctly. They mentioned that they couldn't honor a warranty in Canada on their facebook page. Sorry

I'm sure if it does well they will expand their base. Can you get Vizio tv's there?

^ Yeah, you can get vizio tv's from like Costco, Newegg.ca ect. But I've yet to see anything about their laptops. I've only seen them on their US Vizio site, and other America resellers.
