Lenovo still holds 3 of the top 10, and 6 of the top 20. With the new notebooks coming any day now, I wonder what this month will look like.

Lenovo is one of those companies that doesn't have the flashy name recognition (at least here in the US) that Dell or HP has ... but they do a lot of things right for large and small businesses (and increasingly for consumers).

For example, the ThinkPad X220 (now being replaced by the ThinkPad X230) is a solid 12.5-inch business notebook. ASUS came out with its version of the X220 earlier this year (the B23E) and it looked VERY impressive but build quality wasn't "quite" as good and, most importantly, business-class support from ASUS has been lacking.

One of the key selling features for the B23E, like many business notebooks, is a docking station that allows you to dock the small laptop and turn it into a desktop replacement. Unfortunately, ASUS discontinued the docking station for the B23E within a month of the notebook's release!

It's that kind of poor support for business from other companies that gives Lenovo the opportunity to take the lead.
