Re: Lenovo Releases Even More New IdeaPad Laptops Discussion
5%? You sure about that. I say more like 20-50%. Which is the Asus made a few changes in the upcoming lineup. Same with Lenovo.
Asus got rid of the crappy Sentelic touchpad and Lenovo decided to add a SD reader.
Samsung decided to do a complete makeover. lol

Re: Lenovo Releases Even More New IdeaPad Laptops Discussion
The 6-series GPUs are just direct rebrands of the 5-series. Not even clock updates or anything. So this is actually a 128bit 560m. Not as good as the 192bit, but still a great GPU that supports optimus. I think the Y580 would be a great gaming laptop.

Re: Lenovo Releases Even More New IdeaPad Laptops Discussion
on most the cards, the new generation even if rebranded is a lower number i.e. 635m is a rebranded 555m. and 610m is a rebranded 520m so if the 660m is really a rebrand, then i would guess it is a rebranded 570m at the very least which would be awwwwwwwwwwwessssooooome lenoooovo

Re: Lenovo Releases Even More New IdeaPad Laptops Discussion
I was under the impression that the current spec sheets only go up to the GT 635M with the other mid-range and high-end parts yet to be announced. I'm still hopeful there will be a die shrink involved on the mid and high end to allow for higher clocks and the same thermal envelope.

IdeaPad Y580 Specs, Reviews, & Latest News | Lenovo | The Verge
1.41 inches thick, 5.95 pounds still a bit big for my taste. Not to mention a 6 hour quoted battery life(so probably like 3 hours in reality).
But if the gtx 660m is really a gtx560m or better, then its the smallest one so far with a gtx card, but if its on par with a gt555m or lower, there are thinner lighter laptops around.
The new HP envy 15 that came out a month ago is lighted thinner longer battery life, ati 7690m. IMO is better until we find out what the 660m can do

the gtx 660m is apparently the successor to the gtx 560m although i don't know if that means rebranded.
