Dell XPS M1210, XPS M2010 and XPS 700 Now Available

Dell today will announce and unveil three new XPS products, two of those being notebook devices.  The XPS M2010 is a 20.1-inch mobile entertainment PC and the XPS M1210 is a 12.1" screen portable notebook with dedicated graphics and built-in web camera.  Both notebooks will have the Core Duo processor and be unveiled today at a 10 a.m. event in Los Angeles.  View the NotebookReview.com M1210 review here.

The XPS M2010 and XPS M1210 are now available on Dell.com.  The XPS M2010 starts at $3,500 while the XPS M1210 starts at $1,321.  The XPS M700 desktop machine is available at Dell.com with a price starting at $2,310.

XPS M2010 Portable Entertainment PC

Dell was seen touting the M2010 at Las Vegas in January where they called it a "mobile concept PC".  That concept becomes reality today as Dell releases the M2010 with a starting price of $3,500.  That's a steep price, but it gets you a lot of options in a mobile type of package.  In a closed position this mobile entertainment PC looks like a black leather brief case with an anodized aluminum carrying handle. When opened, the M2010 turns into a 20.1-inch high-definition display with detachable keyboard.  The M2010 has the ATI X1800 graphics card included, making it a natural gaming machine.  A slot loading DVD and integrated 1.3 megapixel camera are just two other cool options of the many offered with the M2010

XPS M1210 Ultramobile Notebook

The XPS M1210 is a portable 12.1" screen notebook with dedicated graphics -- a rare thing for this sized notebook.  The nVidia Go 7400 128MB graphics card gives this little notebook some jazz and the ability to do some gaming.  Also offered with the M1210 is an optional built-in rotating web camera and optional EVDO.  That's a lot of features for such a small package.  Dell has also broken with its past design and features a new black lid with silver logo lid and then brushed silver look on the keyboard and inside hte notebook.

Dell today also unveiled an XPS 700 gaming desktop.   The XPS 700 gaming desktop is armed to the teeth with options for advanced graphics, processors, hi-fi audio and physics accelerators to deliver an immersive multimedia experience for gamers and enthusiasts.  Priced at $2,410, the XPS 700 is available in special-edition formula red in the U.S. and Canada, and black, available worldwide, at $2,310.  A kit for build-your-own enthusiasts starts at $1,120, including the chassis, an Intel 930 processor, 512 MB memory, motherboard and power supply.  Available features include:

• Pentium D and 965 Extreme Edition Dual Core processor options at 800 MHz FSB
• Up to 4 GB3 DDR2 667MHz memory
• The forward slanting profile enables gamers to place the chassis against a wall without crimping the power and other cables in the back.

The M2010 looks awesome, and I think its features justify its price tag. The M1210 will now offer some serious competition to the Sony SZ series.

Those are some seriously nice designs. Must be someone new in Dell's design dept. trying to make a good impression.

The XPS 700 looks as good as high end custom build cases, such as the one manufactured by thermaltake. (Direct link to gallery) The none 90 degree angles are sweet

EDIT: it seems they still didn't implement the price cuts on the core duo!!! 2GHz option is still $200 more than the 1.83GHz. While the price cuts should place them only $50 apart ... weird!

That M1210 is still looking sweet - I'm secretly hoping it runs hotter than a Macbook and has barely enough battery life to watch a DVD movie.. but don't tell anybody

yeah, the m1210 does look like a tidy little package. Anyone know when it'll be coming to the UK? The dell website is not very informative

I'm interesting in knowing the battery life on the M1210. For a 12 inch it should be at least 5 hrs.

Dell claims it can get almost 8 hours on the 9 cell battery (probably with integrated graphics and everything turned all the way down). I imagine even with the 7400 and everything turned all the way down 5 hours is within reach.

Since the shipping date is June 22nd I can wait for a review and decide between it and the upcomming Acer Ferrari 1000 12" laptop, which should be very interesting...
