Re: Western Digital My Passport Essential USB 3.0 Review Discussion
Horrible. Stopped working in less than a year. 9 months max even in a controlled no traveling enviroment. Lost over 10,000 photos. I am a photographer. Really depressing.. even more so we the reply by the company, "We are not responsible for loss of data.. its a back up drive so you should have the info stored in another place as well." Well in that case, where do you buy the reliable "back-up the back-up drive drives" Thats what i would like. I couldn't imagine starting a business and not placing a guarantee on my work. Actually i do.. and now i can't access my drive for additional prints.
DO NOT BUY FROM WESTERN DIGITAL.

WOW Roman Guy, that really sucks! I've had pretty good luck with mine but I use it primarily to backup my data so it doesn't take much wear and tear.

I also have had excellent luck with my usb 2 1 tb drive ... working for a long time and lots of use as well.
I guess there will always be lemons in any mass releases though...."It is a joyful thing indeed to hold intimate converse with a man after one’s own heart, chatting without reserve about things of interest or the fleeting topics of the world; but such, alas, are few and far between."
