The 8-inch Sony VAIO P Series Lifestyle netbook returns with a refresh to the original series models. This ultraportable netbook packs a more powerful processor than the last version (but still maintains an Intel Atom), Windows 7 Home Premium instead of Vista, a larger solid state drive with SATA (all the refreshed models have SSDs now), longer-lasting standard battery life, a touchpad built into the screen, a display switch option (switches much like a tablet or smartphone), a few other new features, and more--if you’re willing to pay the high price tag. Sony has made no change to the overall size, so it can still fit in your back pocket. We have tested this refresh against our benchmarks and will show you how it matches up to the older version and up to other netbooks in the market in terms of performance and design.

Pretty cool netbook, and from my experiences with it in person, it really does have a stunning screen with amazing pixel density. The price, unfortunately, is probably two times more than most people would be willing to pay for that hardware.

I wish I had the money for a vaio p. I have been a fan since the original, but now with the m11x the only way to get a p that can compete Ill be spending near 1500 for a netbook. Now if only they made these with the zacate chips then it would be a true monster...

Quite expensive for an 8 inch atom based netbook. Not sure the worth is there, but an interesting concept for a netbook nonetheless!

I consider it more of a UMPC than a netbook, considering the price and size. As such, while it's really cool, doesn't have a target market at that price. Such a shame...

Now that would be a sweet(specially if it's one of the dual core models), or at the very least dual core atom.

This is symptomatic of the sony tax scheme - just becoz it's a sony-you have to pay more- no wonder their profits are falling because of not doing proper market and pricing research- $1500 for a so so netbook ha!

they need to fire their head tech guy

$1500 (with a crippled CPU 32-bit, 2gb limitation) versus my $400 AMD e350 -64-bit hmmmmm a real hard choice there
