    If they have 500GB on a single platter it means that regular (9.5mm, 2 platter) laptop drives with 1TB capacity are on the corner.

    ya seagate already has external 500 gb platter external drives for sale now 1 tb and 1.5 tb

    I wonder when regular 9.5mm 500GB single patter drives are coming. Have not seen any announcements regarding next gen 2.5" drives since Z5K500 (a drive that is still not available in my region).
