    If they would start making notebooks with 1920x1200 resolution with the slimmer LED screens i would actually be happy.
    Too bad its a big chance it will never happen.

    It is. My GX640 is still TFT backlit. Anyway, I must say it's one of the nicer TFT screens I have seen, the blacks on here are very black, colors are vibrant, although the maximum brightness isn't super high. The lid seems really thin, too, though. Hmm.

    I am all for LED screens, but the majority are poor quality. I cant stand all these 1366x768 screens with poor contrast and blacks and tight viewing angles
    Now using - Dell Precision m4600, M6600 & Apple MBP15 2011 HR

    Sold - M17x r3, M14x, M11x r1 & r3, MBP 17" 2011 MBA 13" 2010, studio xps 15, studio xps 1640, xps 1530 and too many clevo's!

    Panels and backlights are different technologies, the resolution and viewing angles are related to the panel, while the panel and backlight both contribute to the contrast.
