Re: Dell XPS M1530 Review
Hi...this is my first post on here and i have a couple of questions i hope someone with a little more expertise than myself will kindly answer
I'm going abroad for a year or so next summer and plan on buying the M1530 as i'll need a decent laptop for everyday use and webcam to stay in contact with home...
Firstly - Should i purchase this laptop now or wait till closer to summer when i go away?! Its not essential i buy it now but i definitely will before summer.
Is there a possibility of a significant price drop on this in the next few months etc?? what do you guys think???
Secondly - Since i'd be buying this in Ireland and going across the world to south Korea will i still be able to use my laptop over there???
I'm thinking i could with a voltage converter but not sure?
Will my laptop work with a foreign countries voltage and will my wi-fi card etc work abroad????
I'm really no computer expert so i hope somebody can help me out!.
Thanks kindly

Re: Dell XPS M1530 Review
In the next month or so the Penryn CPUs should be being used, which will give a small performance advantage and a little bit better battery life than is currant. As for discounts, I believe they are as discounted right now as they may get.

Re: Dell XPS M1530 Review
After reading thru this I'm going to change my order (Monday) from:
Glossy, widescreen 15.4 inch LCD (1280x800) & 2.0 MP Camera
to:
High Resolution, glossy widescreen 15.4 inch LCD(1440x900) & 2MP Camera
for the added $50 what the hey..
Still undecided if I want the bluetooth for the $20 extra as don't know too much about it.
This will also be my "first" laptop, hope I'll be happy with it.
Any thoughts on the two upgrades anyone?
Thanks
Also which Router would work "best" for this laptop?
Something not to complicated just plug and play as I'm getting the
Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-card.Last edited by FLHX07; 29th December 2007 at 10:07 AM.

Re: Dell XPS M1530 Review
Well I think that the addition of Penryn processors and LED backlit screens will make that already attractive laptop a lot 'sexier'. :P

Re: Dell XPS M1530 Review
Injek,
don't know if the deal being offered now will also be offered with the Penryn processors and LED backlit screens. I don't do much if any gaming so this being my first laptop should be a nice "first" one.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks

Re: Dell XPS M1530 Review
Hope this helps
I'm pretty sure that you will have no problems with stuff like charging your laptops battery or just having it plugged in. I am posotive that you can get on the internet with your laptop while your in South Korea but I can't give you a definite awnser on wherther your wifi will work.
As for purchasing your laptop I would wait until the backlit LED displays because the display will be thinner, ligter, brighter, and give you better battery life.
I wouldn't nessicerily wait for Penryn because it won't add much if any of a performance boost at most you'll get a few more minutes of battery life.

Re: Dell XPS M1530 Review
Well actually I'm not saying that the current configurations are bad.
They're actually pretty good!
I'm sure you'll enjoy the m1530 as it now is - featuring a good gddr3 8600M GT ,
you'll have quite enjoyable experiences while playing games.
And the XPS M1530 definitely got the looks!

Re: Dell XPS M1530 Review
you just need a plug adapter the power supply is already capable of adjusting to the power (at least i had no trouble in indonesia). Wifi also works wherever.
