Toshiba Tecra M8 Review

What happened to the traditional Tecra all black magnesium chassis? I really liked that design, though it was a few years old.

I bought a Tecra M8 a few weeks ago but it arrived while I was out of town on business/vacation. I've been using it for 2 days now without a single BSOD. I got it configured with windows xp professional, which probably explains the lack of BSOD. While there is some bloatware, its not as bad as I expected. I think the computers with Vista come with the most bloatware! The keyboard has a little flex in it and the keys are a little noisy, but I think that the rest really makes up for it. The display is bright and beautiful. The palm rests don't get too warm and the battery life is decent. The only time this thing gets stuck is when I use Office Outlook, but I've had that problem on other machines as well. So far I am pleased with my purchase. Much more so than the T61 I bought and sent back immediately.

BTW, using the fingerprint scanner makes online banking and purchases so much easier!
