Acronis True Image and Intel Centrino Wireless N 1030
I'm trying to figure out why Acronis True Image 2011 (and 2012) boot disc loaded on my laptop doesn't see my desktop pc. I want to backup the whole of my Vostro 3550 to my desktop PC. But using Acronis boot disc, for anyone that knows the program, when clicking on 'Computers Near Me' it should show my desktop PC's shared folder, but it doesn't, it constantly says 'No items'. But when I load the boot disc on my desktop, 'Computers Near Me' sees my laptop's shared folder. So I'm wondering if it's an issue with my Intel Centrino Wireless N 1030 in the Vostro. I've even wired the laptop to my router and disabled wireless temporarily. In windows (not using acronis) I can do normal transfers of files between both computers via the folders I've shared, so there's no issue with network outside of Acronis.
Acronis say:
'Standalone Version of Acronis True Image Cannot Find Network Share with an Image Archive:
The problem can relate to the network card of the machine or to the card driver shipped with Acronis True Image.'
Has anyone who's used Acronis experienced this issue with the same intel centrino card? If so, is there a fix or a workaround?
Alternatively, can you recommend another good image backup program that might be easier to network with? Thanks.Dell Vostro 3550 - i5 2410M SB@2.3Ghz (turbo 2.9GHz) * 4GB DDR3 ram * HD3000 + AMD HD6630M *
