I got mine from dabs. Had a look round today just out of interest and there have been a few more comments here and there of bad connections with this asus router. I had tired to get in contact with asus suppot before I sent it back but only got a reply this weekend. They seem to be aware there an issue with at least some of them, so maybe a dodgy batch or something. Again its a bit of a shame I might wait and see what Asus have to offer in a couple of years. Gonna stick with this Billion for now managed to tweak an extra 2.5mbps out of my connecton with it

I bought the same router and I have similar problems with the connection speed.
The web pages take too long to load and I am very disappointed.
What did Asus support tell you?
Do they intend to release a new firmware soon?

Well they didnt mention anything about a firmware update I'm afriad. I was told that they will be sending a number of the returned units to their engineers for further investigation. I was asked if I could send mine directly but I had already exhcanged it at dabs for the Billion at this point.

I've seen a few other comments where people have sent thier faulty asus's back and recived a fully working one so I don't suspect it to be a firmware issue. My guess is theres just a batch out there with a dodgy capacitor or 2.

I see, so maybe the best solution is to send it back.I was hoping that there was
a way to avoid the waiting time untill the new one returns to me.
    Thank you for your answer.

After making some bechmark tests I found out that the upload speed is limited
to 0.1 Mbps with this router instead of 1.0 Mbps that I used to have before.
Maybe this is the reason why everything is so slow....
I changed the uplink speed in qos field but no improvements were made.
I finaly connected it with my linksys modem/router to bypass the speed isues
untill a new firmware comes up.It is such a pity to realize that the asus forum gives no help after 4 days waiting.....

I've just been on facebook chatting to some one I used to work with who now manages a small chain of independant computer shops. They have had a few returns of this router since release. All with upload speed issues some just like yours with only 0.1mbps. He says even some of the replacements they have re-ordered have had the same issue so are now testing every one before they go out.

Again we dont really think its a firmware problem as there have been many that have had no problem at all. I think it might be best to have it replaced and ask for it to be tested before they ship it out
