Can't connect to open public network Error code 011?
If anyone could figure out what went wrong I'd really appreciate...
I had always used this free open public wireless network, even yesterday, but today even though the signal strength was 100%, the connection always failed (tried almost 1 hour!). I didn't make any change whatsoever with my laptop (Thinkpad), and I never needed to do anything in order to access this network. The error code was "011". What could be the reason? It was very frustrating spending like 1 hr trying to connect what was usually the easiest thing on earth! FYI my wifi card is Intel 5300 AGN.
I also tried to use ThinkVantage Access Connection to no avail.
Thanks in advance!

Did you talk to whoever owns the public network? Since everything worked the day prior, maybe there was an issue with the network itself.
If you have a problem, do everyone a huge favor: post the exact error message. Don't abbreviate or paraphrase.

Signal strength and the permission to connect are two separate things. If you can't connect today, post again. Also, post more about this error 011 you got. Do you get a pop up windows with that error? Is it an error you get in a browser window? Is there any text that accompanies this error?
