How to connect two laptops?
I am having two laptops right now. What I want to do with them is that I have many video file on laptop A, and I want to watch them on laptop B, so what's the way to get access to these files on A from B and fast enough to watch video? And I don't want to copy them over from A to B.
Thanks.

Re: How to connect two laptops?
It's been posted many times:
wireless peer to peer file sharing
To transfer them wirelessly, you need 2 wireless cards. If you don't have wireless cards in each computer, you need to purchase a Ethernet Crossover cable as no regular ethernet cable will work.
What do you mean by not copying the videos on to each computer? The only way im sure of is you need to transfer them over to laptop B. Which means the file from laptop A, will be on laptop B.-nickspohn

A router is another option.

Re: How to connect two laptops?
Ok, so now I'm trying to connection with a router. My laptop A is connected through a cable, laptop B is connected through the wireless. I ran both the networking setup, but only A can have access to B, and B somehow cannot get access to A, it said I need to permission. So how to gonna do it?
Thanks

Re: How to connect two laptops?
That's a lot of "trouble" to go through just to NOT have the video file on laptop B.
Would putting the files on a DVD or external usb drive be acceptable?

Re: How to connect two laptops?
Disable all your firewalls for computer A and B. (Make sure the Windows one is disabled), and any other firewalls that you have enabled.

Re: How to connect two laptops?
yea, A can see both B and itself and access B, but B can just see both A and itself, not having access to A

Did you share the drive you want access to? Perhaps turning off simple file sharing will help.
