Wireless phone interfering with Wireless Router... HELP

The phone is 2.4ghz, and whenever a phone call comes the internet is gone. This didnt used to happen before ALOT, but now it disconnects on every phone call that comes.

    I have DLINK-2310 router.

The problem is that i cant move the phone or buy a new phone or the router from their place, so is there any alternative way of fixing this.

In your router see if you can change the broadcast frequency. You should be able to. It will still be in the 2.4ghz range, but just do some tweaking until it no longer is a problem. Try using a cell phone to call your home phone to see if you've fixed the problem. The wireless channels should be numbered as 1 through 11 and range from 2.412 to 2.462ghz.

Right now your phone and router are on the same frequency, and they should be as far apart as possible. If you're currently on channel one for instance, try switching to channel 11. If you're on 6, go to 1 and then try 11. And so on, until you find something that works.

With DSL you must install filters on all working telephone jacks to isolate the internet from the telephone network. But you have cable, so I have no clue what is going on.

Do you have VoIP? Are you getting telephone services through cable?

The phone has a broadcast frequency of 2.4Ghz, and he's using wireless A/G which also is on 2.4Ghz. The phone interferes with the wifi, that's my understanding. I didn't think it was the internet actually dropping, but the wireless was getting jammed.

Yeah, it makes sense, to change the channel could work. But I don't know how his portable is setup, sometimes the portable for security purposes alternate channels.

Is not there where you change the channel, go to your card adapter, properties, advance and check under Adhoc, try to get the lowest channel as possible, like 1.
