    Default MSI GT60 or GT683DX?

Ok so ive been looking at MSI for months now and have been doing so much research. Now i want others opinions.

The GT683DX will be $200 cheaper! That is why i want to know if its worth saving the $200. Is the 3610m going to make a difference compared to a 2670QM? Also is the GTX670m going to make a difference over the 570m? I heard that the 670m is just an overclocked 570m. So is it really worth it? And lastly, the design. The design of the GT60 is way nicer than the GT683DX, including blacklit keyboard, aluminum looking finish, gold audio jacks, and more!

So guys in your opinion, do you think the GT60 is worth the extra $200? Also everything else besides the GPU and CPU are the same.

    Thanks.

I think the 670m is the same as the 570m but slightly clocked higher. I agree that the gt60 looks a million times better, and the brushed aluminum case is nice. The 3610qm utilizes less power than the 2670qm (I think) but I'll let the experts speak on that Otherwise, go with the gt60!

Most definitely worth, in my opinion. The CPU not only consumes less power, but includes a gpu as well. Thus giving the ability for opimus. Which means wireless display and also better battery life overall. The nvidia card doesn't really matter too much. And a back lit keyboard is a must for me. Also the case way better on the gt60. I didn't like the orange less, not sure if gt683dx has that though? Lastly, a matte screen makes all the difference! I didn't realize until I started using it. Matte is much more vivid and clean. All the features in the gt60 is worth the $200.

I thought the sandy bridge also had optimus? I also think the backlit is a must have. Also the GT680DX does have the orange as well as a matte screen. Thanks for your input.

Just FYI, the GT683DX has a matte screen and all of the orange chassis lights can be easily turned off.

I was wanting to go for the GT60, but fear of possible problems with the Steelseries keyboard and the price difference make me go for the GT683....glad I did. It's been a great laptop...all things being even, I'd prefer the GT60...either way, I don't think you can go wrong.

The keyboards are just designed this way. On either model too. They are your typical chicklet style and are not touch-sensitive. Keys can still be missed. I've owned both a gt683r and now a gt60. And the previous model does indeed have sandy bridge, but not the "pre-installed" gpu (Intel 4000 HD) like an ivy bridge has. The only models that msi included with optimus are the new 2012 models.

Wow knowing that pretty much makes me shy away from the GT683DX. That optimus makes a huge difference in my choice. Thank you so much for telling me that.
