MSI GT780DX screen replacement?
I've been thinking about upgrading the screen to the 90% gamut one (AUO B173HW01 v4 )
Is it easy to replace the screen myself ?

Yes, if it's like the 15.6" models, just run your fingers under the inside of the bezel and pull and it should come away. Unscrew the mounts and take the cable out (held down by 2 sets of tape, the second being clear so make sure you don't miss it!) now reverse the process.

Re: MSI GT780DX screen replacement?
I replaced it with the AUO B173HW01 yesterday and it was quite easy to do. The bezel only has 2 screws at the bottom (they are cosmetically hidden) and after that as Meaker has said, just pull it (it is harder to close it again properly).
Inside there are 6 screws to unmount the panel (you need to unscrew the side panel supports too so you can use them with the new lcd). The labels were a bit tricky because the have to much glue and I was a bit afraid of damaging the cable.
The panel is quite nice (finally no more of anti glossy "noise") but this new one has more backlight bleeding than my msi default. I think the panel is less brighter but has nicer colors.

Uh, Meaker, you missed mentioning the 2 screws at the lower left and lower right located under the rubber stops at the bottom of the display for this particular model. ^_^
Those screws have to be removed before the LCD display bezel can be pried off.
Aside from that, very similar to the 15-inch, yes.

Lol that's why I said if it's the same.
