Re: 7970M heatsink modification.
Hello!
I wonde if anybody think I can mod my gt663 heatsink to this card? The graphic card is a gtx460m. And will the 150w power supply be enough? Or most i buy a new one? Where can I find a new power supply and where can I buy a hd 7970m? Or do someone know where I buy a hd 7870m? And how do the hd7870 look?

You can try to mod the 460M heatsink to fit the 7970M but this is going to be a tough one. The 150W shall be more than enough for the 7970M, now you need to look at Upgradeyourlaptop on eBay to get this GPU

Re: 7970M heatsink modification.
A note about modifying the gtx 460m heatsink for gt663 and ms16f1 users:
I'd have to see a picture to say for sure, but if you have 6 bumps on the heatsink instead of 8, I think the best option is to use copper shims and cooling paste... Just get some copper of the right thickness and it should take care of the vRAM... otherwise it will definitely be difficult to use.

Heheh, I picked it off the members market, want to go all retail and also want a better IMC for memory tweaking.
It's not here yet but I don't see any challenges fitting it lol.

Here we are, nicked a couple of bits I did not mean to but on the whole I don't think it's too bad for my first ever dremel work.Sales@PowerNotebooks.com | Phone: (US) 877-711-1777 - CALL US FOR NOTEBOOKREVIEW ACTIVE MEMBER DISCOUNTS
