Re: The Official MSI GT60 & GT70 Owners' Lounge
I have what may be (probably is) a dumb question. I just got the GT70 yesterday and i see that the dual SSD drives are the default C drive , and the much larger regular hard drive is default D.Seeing as most programs try to install under drive C that means anything I want to install i will have to change the default drive to D on installation .......so what programs if any should i install on the RAID drive C?Or should i just put everything on D??Also why didnt MSI make the larger drive the C seeing as thats where presumably most people will install programs or am I completely missing the boat here?

Re: The Official MSI GT60 & GT70 Owners' Lounge
I think you're completely missing the point. :P
The "smaller" C: drive is your dual SSD array. This gets you unbelievable speeds around 800Mbps, or some crazy number like that. The larger drive (I'm presuming 750GB) is a platter and will get you 120Mbps tops.
The reason that the array is C: is because that's where Windows will/should be installed. You want things on the SSD's that you want to launch fast. There's not point in installing your favorite programs to D: just to save room on C:. 128GB is plenty of space for the OS and your day-to-day necessity programs. It's also room for a few of your favorite games.

Why not just install your programs too D: ? You can also reassign folders such as documents and downloads too D:

Re: The Official MSI GT60 & GT70 Owners' Lounge
Hi guys.
I just bought a GT70 and immediately it has a problem, its a bit of a weird one and I've never seen it before. Hoping somebody here can help.
Straight out of the box, my GT70 had a boot loop and never loaded windows. Pressing DEL to enter the bios setup and then exiting would get me out of the loop. Now the laptop boots sometimes straight to windows, and sometimes I have to bypass the loop.
Every half hour or so when using the laptop, all of a sudden menus (like the start menu) will start to disappear as soon as they appear. This happens, for example, in the middle of installing software and having to select the destination folder. When this is happening, if I load a browser and start typing into google, i can't finish my search query without the machine automatically putting spaces in, or running a search for the first few letters of my search term- and then the text box will flash repeatedly quickly, almost as if I am repeatedly pressing the enter or ESC key.
I don't want to have to send the laptop back after having it less than 24 hours. Any ideas?

Re: The Official MSI GT60 & GT70 Owners' Lounge
Your keyboard is likely faulty. The first GT60 I bought had a faulty keyboard and would sometimes register an "s" keystroke repeatedly (all by itself when nothing is touching the keyboard), which could cause all kinds of weirdness during boot and at other times. If the ESC or Enter keys are doing the same thing on your unit, then yeah, you've got a problem on your hands.
I exchanged for a new GT60 at the retailer where I bought it.

Re: The Official MSI GT60 & GT70 Owners' Lounge
I had the same issue last night and updated Flash and it didn't work, restarted the computer twice the second time I opted to add the Google bar that also downloaded with the update and magically Youtube is working perfectly.....Not sure why that would be but its working for me now.
