Re: The Official MSI GT60 & GT70 Owners' Lounge
I just watched Xotic PC's review on GT60, but I notice one thing he said in the video that I thought other wise.
He mentioned that the back cover of the monitor is a "hard plastic", I always thought they are aluminum. Which brought up an other question, is the palm rest also not aluminum then, IF that guy is correct that it is "hard plastic".

Re: The Official MSI GT60 & GT70 Owners' Lounge
Disclaimer: I don't care if its plastic or aluminum since I've already decided this is the laptop for me (I've been shopping for months and IMO this is THE best deal on a gaming laptop)
That being said I would prefer a hard plastic. The plastic pieces of my gateway p6831fx look fine but the aluminum piece where the power and media buttons are is aluminum and looks a lite beat up. It scratches easy and it dents.Gateway P6831FX T9300 Processor, 4 GB RAM, Win 7 Home Premium:

Re: The Official MSI GT60 & GT70 Owners' Lounge
Thanks, I've decided to wait. I'd still prefer a GTX580/GTX675 to a GTX670 and really want a GTX680 so looks like I'll be waiting quite some time.
Have they improved the keyboard on the GT's? I've read they did something about the tactile responce and multi-key presses or was that from the previous models?MSI GT70 ONE-281US

Re: The Official MSI GT60 & GT70 Owners' Lounge
Whether the palm rest is aluminum or plastic, I plan to do a little mod to it by adding carbon fiber skin to it...maybe about a 3" vertical "pad" so as to cover the area(s) where either palm would rest. I think carbon fiber would match the rest of the system real nice. And if not, it can be removed without scratching or gumming up the brushed aluminum.

I believe its the same for the 17" models as it is using Steeleseries again. I think its the 1st time they are putting a Steelseries keyboard in the 15" models.
The Engadget review saying the viewing angles are very bad on the GT70 screen, can anyone else confirm this? I plan to buy mine from Gentech or Xotic next month when Im in the USA. Should I upgrade to the gloss screen for $35? Also they come with a Bigfoot Killer E2200 right? Is this a descent wireless card or worth upgrading? Any other mods wroth thinking please let me know, I plan on buying the MSI GT70-0NC-011US model. Thank you.

I would splash out on the high gamut screen because it's awesome and its the main way you interact with your machine.
