Re: Msi Gt680 & Gx680
If people start getting rid of that damn outdated and useless optical drive there would be SLI/Xfire setups in 15inch notebooks.

MSI E7405-080US
i5-430M @ 3.1 GHz + AMD 5870M 915/1085 Stable @ 1.125V (10453 Vantage GPU score) + 4GB DDR3 + 500GB WD5000BEKT + 640GB WD6400BPVT
Acer AO522-BZ499
AMD Fusion C-50 + 6250M + 2GB DDR3 + 64GB Crucial M4/C400

I agree, if you need an optical drive, can just use an external one through esata.

Re: Msi Gt680 & Gx680
Why not
Just a quick ebay search shows a few external blu-ray drives.
The only problem I could see is having enough power for the drive (could use AC power if needed), apart from that it should be perfect through esata.Clevo P150HM / Sager NP8150: i7-2630QM OEM (would trade for Q154

Re: Msi Gt680 & Gx680
I read that right now drives are still faster through esata than USB3.0.
And since the GT/GX660 has both esata and USB3.0, I guess the 680 will also.Clevo P150HM / Sager NP8150: i7-2630QM OEM (would trade for Q154

Re: Msi Gt680 & Gx680
GX680 is such a waste, if the 6870m is the 5870m.
